Malta

The archipelago of Malta is at the center of the Mediterranean, just 90 km from Sicily and 290 km from the African coast. Because of its position it can be said that it is a real pearl in the Mediterranean and is composed of the main island that gives its name to the archipelago and the two smaller islands Gozo and Comino.

Despite the small size you can find all kinds of interests and activities, the variety of things to see and do make this unique archipelago and complete. The Maltese Islands are a collection of art, history, archeology, folklore, sports, crafts, culinary arts, crafts, attractions and entertainment, here the ancient and the modern are mixed to form and hard to find spectacular scenery.

Malta Knights

The archipelago was chosen as the venue by the Knights of St. John, more commonly known as the Knights of Malta, they represented a moment of glory in the history of these islands and have enriched with numerous cities and works of art.
The islands offer national bus services, but to be able to turn freely you can use car or bike rental, there are in every city at reasonable prices.

Malta is the main island and is the largest in size, which is the only airport of the archipelago; the capital Valletta, the main tourist and commercial port of the archipelago, from which you can reach by sea the other ports the other two islands via the local ferry service.

Mdina

Valletta with Medina, Rabat and Mosta are some of the beautiful rich Maltese city of forts, palaces, churches and ramparts that protected them from invasions of foreign peoples.

The island is also linked to the history of St. Paul that sank here and stayed there for three months; he is entitled to the resort town St. Paul’s Bay.
In the southern part of the island coasts they are low and full of bays and coves like the one where lies the picturesque village of Marsaxlokk. Inside you you can find ancient temples of Tarxien and rare prehistoric ruins of Hagar Qim.
The best beaches are located north, definitely worth a visit Paradise Bay, Golden Bay and Ghajn Tuffieha Bay, Bugibba and Mellieha followed by.

Gozo is the second largest island, less touristy and more quiet, where the pace is slower and more relaxing than Malta, reachable only by ferry. The only real city is situated inland in central Victoria; also visit the famous Azure Window (Azure Window) impressive natural rock arch that rises out of the sea, a popular destination for those who love diving.
Even in Gozo you can find churches and shrines, prehistoric temples and the beautiful Ramla beach where it was born a mythological legend.

Comino is a small island that lies between Malta and Gozo, reachable by ferry, a popular destination for divers and snorkelers, with its inhabitants a few families and only one hotel is probably the most peaceful island but very beautiful.
